Cookie Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This page explains how artiumav.co.uk (run by Artium, a trading name of Artium AV Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies. It goes with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Similar technologies (like local storage) do the same job. They can make a site work properly, remember your choices, or - on some sites - track what you do. Rules on cookies come from the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
2. What we use
We use strictly necessary storage so the site works as you'd expect. That doesn't need consent. We also use Google Analytics 4 cookies, and only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. We don't use advertising cookies. We don't set HTTP cookies for the shop basket. The dry hire basket uses local storage instead.
| Cookie / storage name | What it does | How long it lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| artium.consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | Up to 12 months, or until you change your choice or clear this site's saved data. | Strictly necessary local storage |
| artium.basket | Remembers the kit in your dry hire request as you move around the shop. | Until you clear this site's saved data in your browser. | Strictly necessary local storage |
| artium.dates | Remembers the hire dates on that request. | Until you clear this site's saved data in your browser. | Strictly necessary local storage |
| artium.dj-hire-ack | Remembers, in this browser tab, that you have seen the trade-only notice for DJ equipment. | Until you close the tab. It is only saved if you see that notice. | Strictly necessary session storage |
| _ga | Set by Google Analytics 4, and only if you accept, to tell one visitor from another. | 2 years | Analytics cookie |
| _ga_ELZ953HRCS | Set by Google Analytics 4, and only if you accept, to remember this visit and session. Google names it _ga_ followed by the measurement id. | 2 years | Analytics cookie |
| NID (Google) | Set by Google if you press Load map on the Contact page, so the embedded map can run. | Set by Google. It is not saved if you never load the map. | Third-party cookie |
The Contact page can also load a Google Map, described in section 5. Those are Google's cookies, and only if you choose to load the map.
A cookie banner asks you to Accept or Reject analytics cookies. The two choices are shown in the same way. Analytics cookies are not set if you reject, or if you have not chosen yet. You can change your mind any time from Cookie settings in the footer, or by clearing this site's saved data.
3. Fonts
Our site uses fonts to make text look the way we want. We host the font files ourselves, so your browser doesn't contact Google to load them.
4. Hosting and server logs
Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps server logs (which can include your IP address) so the site stays secure and working. These aren't cookies, but they're covered in our Privacy Policy.
5. Third-party content
The Contact page shows a still image of our unit until you press Load map. If you do, we embed a Google Map. Google may then set third-party cookies, such as NID, so the map can run. Those cookies are not set if you never press Load map. We don't embed YouTube or social media feeds.
6. Google Analytics
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ELZ953HRCS) to see which pages are used, and to count quote enquiries and dry hire requests. Before that tag loads, we tell Google to keep analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation denied. We only turn analytics storage on after you accept. Ad storage stays off.
The analytics cookies are _ga (2 years, to tell visitors apart) and _ga_ELZ953HRCS (2 years, to remember the session). Google builds that second name as _ga_ followed by the measurement id. They are not set if you reject.
Google may process that information outside the UK, including in the United States. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is protected when it leaves the UK. Google describes its own cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
We don't use Google Ads. If we add advertising tags later, we'll update this policy first and ask you again.
7. How to control or delete cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, or clear site data, parts of the site (like the dry hire basket) may not work. These links explain how:
