We've heard a lot of systems over the years, and nothing moves a dancefloor like Funktion-One. It's loud when you need it to be, but what really sets it apart is clarity. Every kick, vocal and hi-hat stays clean, even at full volume at 3am. Crowds dance longer, DJs hear more detail and nobody leaves with ringing ears. For club nights and festivals, it's the system we trust.

02 · The story
The story
Built in Britain, 1992.
Funktion-One was founded in Dorking, Surrey, by Tony Andrews and John Newsham. The pair had already shaped live sound once, as co-founders of Turbosound in the late 1970s, and they started again with one goal: hi-fi quality sound at concert scale.
Clarity over volume.
Andrews has been designing loudspeakers for more than 50 years. His idea was simple: sound should be felt and heard in full detail, not just pushed louder. That thinking is behind the distinctive axehead horns you see on every cabinet.
Berghain and beyond.
In 2005, Andrews tuned Berlin's Berghain system himself, and it became one of the most famous club rigs on the planet. It ran for 18 years before the club upgraded to newer Funktion-One technology. Today the purple stacks are a sign of serious sound in clubs from Berlin to New York.
